The Settle Community Christmas Day Meal will take place again this year 2024.
This is made possible - through the help of
Local volunteers (who generally take part in the meal too too)
St John's Methodist Church who enable us to use their facilities
Age UK
The people who come and take part
.. and maybe some people and organisations in the community will support us by giving goods???
Judith Allinson who attends the church does the main part of the organising but is looking for help from others so that it can be run in years ahead without Judith being there/having to do it.
Volunteers are needed for jobs such as to give lifts, prepare the food on the morning of 24th December, prepare the tables on 24 December, serve and wash up, serve coffee and welcome people and several other small jobs.
The other key person in the event is the Chef / Cook / Kitchen Organiser - we are looking for a volunteer/ volunteers for this post.
The price will be £10 per head (children £5-00)
If you would like to come - please book by contacting Judith Allinson judithallinson22@gmail.com or by leaving your details at Age UK, Cheapside, Settle. (Pay on the day) .
Please include dietary needs. We plan to make vegetarian and vegan options available. It may not be possible to cater for all allergies so please check first.
There will be a planning meeting on Friday 22 November at 6pm (tea and biscuits from 5.30pm) at the church when we decide who does which jobs.
I will make a fancy page about the event shortly - meanwhile here are links to reports of three of the events that were held over the ten years before Covid.
