A select band of three of us went in two cars and parked at Cow Bridge and walked up the Ribble Way to the Bird Hide, where we used our mobile phones to record birds in the hedgerow.

I forgot to take a picture of the river this time But here is a ditch. The path goes beside the ditch.

This is Reed Sweet Grass - Glyceria maxima. It was growing near the stile about 200m further along the path from the Hide. It had been dug out of the ditch/stream and left on the bank. |
We returned to the cars. I took passenger Margaret, and Geoff followed in his car.
Margaret and I visited Barbara Thompson who had invited us to see her garden which she had started to make wildlife friendly. it will be good to go back in summer.
